Korpack Solves Damage and Delivery Issues

At Korpack, we love working with innovative companies that are concerned about the environment, so we were thrilled when an environmentally friendly cleanser company asked us early in 2021 to look at excessive shipping damage and delivery quality issues they were experiencing.

The culprit behind the company’s problems was their use of a universal partition size for all their products. Doing this left approximately 1.5” of extra space for 90% of their products, which were being jostled about during shipment and being damaged as a result. This was leading to substantial expenses for replacing items, as well as potential damage to the company’s customer retention rate.

It All Started With an RFQ

The company was responsible and proactive with these issues. Their initial contact with us was via a Request for Quote, which we were happy to receive from them. What they would soon realize is that Korpack never replies with simple pricing or boiler-plate answers.

Our process is to thoroughly uncover the desired goals of the potential customer, review the current situation, innovate, redesign, and ultimately present the most impactful and beneficial solution.

And, this is precisely what we did.

Korpack Tackled the Problem

What was needed wasn’t a different size partition. Instead, they needed and saw the value in separate, specially fitted boxes for different SKUs. These boxes were designed to reduce their current damage rate of 7% to near zero percent.

The customer was very happy that not only would people receive their orders undamaged, and become repeat customers, but the company would also be realizing a $40,000 per year savings from their current damage projections.

Not only did we solve the most pressing issues, but we also looked to the future with this amazing young company. We pointed out that as they continue to grow, hand-packing their products won’t be feasible in the not-too-distant future. We introduced some concepts to them that will make their automation easier down the road and will still align with their clean initiative. We look forward to implementing additional packaging solutions for our customer as they grow.
